Beyond that, remember that you are asking about an experimental treatment. You should always assume that there could be some side effects. Anyone engaging in experimental treatments needs to assess their own risk tolerance.
Sometimes, even after the lengthy FDA approval process and the Rx has been on the market for years, we learn about new side effects of medications. In this case, insulin is not approved for this specific purpose and it has not been widely used for it. If you choose to be a pioneer, be willing to accept whatever consequences there are. Do your own risk-reward assessment.
I personally think the risks of insulin eye drops are within my comfort zone, but I have not yet made my final decision. I am planning to read as much as I can, and that's what any of us should do.

I am interested in trying this as well. I doubt that my very-conservative Dr will help me get the insulin or drops. Any suggestions on where I could find a Dr who could help? My Dr does not even want me to get preservative-free drops!
