I saw in an email discussion where Dr. Donald Schwartz said:

I am now trying to raise funds to do a confirmatory clinical trial to verify my findings.

I wonder if this treatment is promising enough, could we FitEyes member contribute to their funding to speed it up? If it works, we could all benefit from it.

If they can make the research part of their organization a non-profit then our contributions would be tax-deductible.

Yes, this is certainly possible -- and very exciting. In fact, last year the FitEyes community helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for a very promising new MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma surgery) device that is under development now.

Substantial skills and experience are required to raise and deploy funding successfully, and key people within the FitEyes community have those essential skills and the experience.

There are multiple ways to financially structure such fundraising efforts. The most obvious to me, is to utilize the existing non-profit entity associated with FitEyes. It is named Unlimited Vision Institute.

Unlimited Vision Institute is a Delaware non-stock, non-profit corporation exempt from Federal income taxation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.

Unlimited Vision Institute can use its funding to support many things, potentially ranging from a clinical trial for Dr. Donald Schwartz's TUG device to other projects that greatly interest the FitEyes community.
