Do chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine raise intraocular pressure?
Has anyone had an intraocular pressure increase if they take chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine, msm and hyaluronic acid for joint pain?
I was taking glucosamine and I stopped because I read it could make glaucoma worse. I didn’t take it long enough to see an increase in my pressures.

Among the FitEyes community members with tonometers who responded to this topic, a significant number reported large IOP increases from chondroitin, glucosamine sulfate and/or hyaluronic acid. Therefore, it is a good idea to closely monitor your IOP when you start these supplements.
However, more than half of those who responded said there was no IOP increase. I am personally in the camp of no IOP increase from msm, chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine and/or hyaluronic acid.
If you cannot monitor your intraocular pressure closely when starting joint supplements, consider cissus quadrangularis for joint pain and bone health. Another good option for joint pain is PEAmium. PEAmium also reduces neuroinflammation and for some (but not all) people it lowers eye pressure. (The main reason glaucoma patients take PEAmium is to protect against neurodegeneration.)

It's quite possible you are one of those people who will not see any IOP increase from this supplement.
