The Icare HOME is definitely easier to use than the IC100. The HOME version has two supports. One rests on your forehead and one rests on your cheek below your eye. With these two supports, it is easier to align the tonometer at the best distance.
The IC100 only has the forehead support. It is up to the operator to gauge the distance because of the lack of a 2nd support. This works better for a physician in a busy office who is measuring the IOP of many patients. The doctor can quickly adjust the distance by changing how he holds the tonometer and he or she doesn't need to adjust a 2nd support.
But for self-tonometry, we are only measuring ourselves, so once you set the two supports you don't usually need to change them. For many people, the extra ease, convenience and safety of the HOME with its two supports makes it much, much better than the IC100 for self-tonometry.
However, you can learn how to use the IC100 for self-tonometry too, and we have a number of FitEyes members who use this model. But if any of you are considering the IC100, my personal choice would be the IC200 over the IC100.
I have owned all these different Icare models (and more -- starting with the TA01I, the Icare ONE, etc.). In my opinion, the best choice for anyone in the USA or Canada is the Icare HOME. (If you live in Europe or Asia, you have different models available that are not available here -- and never* will be.)
Is there any reason to go for the (more expensive!) IC100, other than its result is immediately viewable on the device?
Bottom line: no, there is no other reason to consider the IC100.
Are there any problems accessing the IOP measurement result from the HOME?
Generally, no. You have to download your IOP using the software and it is not a problem for most people. Also, don't get confused if you see people from other countries talking about viewing the IOP directly on the Icare HOME. That function is not available on the North American model and it never* will be.
Based on my insights and experience, there is no advantage to the IC100 other than its ability to display the IOP value directly on the device. The ease of use of the HOME more than makes up for that in my opinion, and you do have convenient options for downloading all your IOP measurements yourself from the Icare HOME. Don't be fooled by the higher cost of the IC100 -- it offers no advantages in our use-case.

* "never" means that if or when Icare introduces a model of the same name in North America, it's features and functions will be different for the North American market due to FDA approvals. Icare does not foresee the FDA approval limitations changing, so I believe "never" is roughly the right term to use here.
