"A recent study examined the potential associations between IBS and glaucoma and if IBS may be a risk factor in development of the neurodegenerative disease." "The team concluded with the hypothesis that patients with IBS are more likely to develop glaucoma may be due to host-microbiome interaction, or immune system dysregulation"
From my experience I have seen Glaucoma patients having or had in the past one of the gut related issues like IBS, SIBO, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s disease and IBD.
Treating the person as a whole is the key in maintaining eye health.

Sometimes I wonder whether a fecal transplant would have any effect on a person's glaucoma. A study to determine the same would be interesting.
Fecal transplants have had noticeable effects on weight gain/loss, mood and personality, and have been used as treatment for a number of conditions such as Parkinson's and autism (see link below), so some sort of effect on glaucoma may be possible.

Chinese Medicine can help eradicate the root cause of most GI disorders including IBS, Gastroparesis and SIBO. Consult with a local Acupuncturist who also treats with Chinese Herbal Medicine to help with your condition.
