In this 2007 post, Use Coenzyme Q10 with Timolol Eye Drops for Glaucoma | FitEyes.com, Dave wrote:

If you use ocular beta blockers such as timolol for glaucoma, consider using coenzyme Q10 supplements (ideally in the ubiquinol form). Even with careful use (including punctal occlusion), some glaucoma patients experience serious cardiovascular side effects from timolol. However, several studies have found that coenzyme Q10 can improve cardiovascular health. And one study specifically found that coenzyme Q10 reduced those cardiovascular side effects caused by timolol eye drops. Therefore, I would not consider using timolol eye drops without also using coenzyme Q10.

I would like to know if any FitEyes members who have low blood pressure have used CoQ10 and if they have noticed a drop in their blood pressure, per this study: Taking CoQ10 for Blood Pressure

If you have, did you find any way to be able to continue taking coQ10 without the BP drop?

coenzyme Q10 reduced those cardiovascular side effects caused by timolol eye drops.

Here's the study that statement is sourced from:

Effect of coenzyme Q10 on hemodynamic response to ocular timolol - PubMed

administration of oral CoQ10 in patients receiving ocular timolol may be useful in mitigating cardiovascular side effects without affecting intraocular pressure in the treatment of glaucoma.

Hypotension is not a known side effect of coenzyme Q10 or ubiquinol. I am not aware of any reason someone with hypotension should avoid these supplements.

Natural dietary supplements do not always work like drugs. Magnesium is a good example. It can help reduce hypertension (high blood pressure) but at the same time it can help combat hypotension (low blood pressure) as well.
