For someone with moderate - advanced glaucoma, a MIG may not be an optimal solution. In investigating the xen gel stent, as a less invasive alternative to a trabeculectomy, it appears that the xen is less effective even though both require a bleb. Also, over the last few years I have read several stories of disappointing results with the xen gel stent.
I am wondering if anyone can share and/or update us on their experiences with this surgery. Also interested in hearing about any thoughts from your own research on the risks/benefits or alternatives of the xen.
