Could a respiratory virus with fever cause IOP to increase?

Hi,

I started getting what seems to be a respiratory virus this morning, possibly Covid given the current wave, although the first home test I used was negative. My temperature has gone from my normal 97.8 to 101. In conjunction with this, my IOPs have gone up from my typical range of 10 (in the morning and before bed) to a peak of 17 to 19 around 4PM to 6PM.

I had cataract surgeries in January and March of this year, along with an ab interno canaloplasty and goniotomy. Right eye was done with the OMNI system. Left eye with Streamline. My pressures have stayed within the range listed above with rare outliers, and without any drops. Today, during the typical peak period, I have seen pressures as high as 25. I am using an iCare Home2.

Questions:

1: Is it possible that Covid or a similar infection could drive my IOP up?

2: I also changed the batteries today because the iCare Home 2 was showing 3 battery cells out of a possible 4, so I thought that perhaps the battery had contributed to the high IOP readings, but they have persisted with the new batteries.

3: I received the Home2 on March 8, 2024, so the probe base has about 5 months of wear/use. Could a dirty or worn probe base create high IOP readings?

Thanks!

Paul
