I'm wondering if mild or moderate glaucoma can mimic the symptoms associated with visual snow? I've been diagnosed with mild glaucoma for the past 3 years and just in the last few months, I've noticed static or interference patterns that are particularly noticeable in low light. It's as if a grey/red screen is in my vision, with thousands of barely perceptible little dots in my visual field. It seems to create fuzziness around object edges in low light. Perhaps the best way to describe it is if the normal human eye is like a 4K HD camera, this is sort of like a super 8 camera, or an early cellphone camera with low pixel density.
This sounds more like visual snow because the phenomena I'm experiencing jibes with the typical description of this condition (i.e., static and dots, light sensitivity and glare, images staying on the retina for a long time, etc), but I'm wondering if this can be early/moderate glaucoma as well? Is this a sign of retinal ganglion cell death?
For what it's worth, there is not much impact on my visual field. In fact, I improved my visual field score the last time I took the test (although I had been taking nicotinamide for several months, so that may have played a factor).
