I found this group early this year and am very grateful to discover this group. i am a juvenile glaucoma and trying to avoid surgery. I ordered the home tonometer thru enlivened and it's such a seamless process with excellent customer support. My GS only needed to write me a prescription for it and i have rented icare from his office last year so he is a big supporter for it. I want to find a cap for my tonometer and i remembered some posts said i can use the spray bottle cap. i have tried different sizes of spray bottles thru amazon and they are either too big or too small. does anyone have specific product (cap size) for the icare 2 tonometer? thank you so much

I replied to you via email previously, but I would like to respond here as well.

There are two options for a cap:

  1. a standard spray bottle cap
  2. a custom 3D printed cap (new) - see link below:

For the spray bottle cap, one of our members went to a department store (Target) and walked through the isles looking at various products with caps. He was able to quickly find one that way.

Trying to do it via Amazon would involve too much trial and error and too many delays and expenses. It's better to go to a brick & mortar store.

For the 3D printed cap, see this project:

Since not all of us have 3D printers available, I reached out to the Enlivened team to request that they make the 3D printed caps available. Until that happens, if you have access to a 3D printer, you could print the cap yourself. (If this interests you, you can download the files directly from https://www.printables.com/model/413673-icare-home-2-tonometer-stand-capguard/files.)

I use a spray bottle cap and it has been working well for me. I like this spray bottle cap because it is clear.

I measured my cap and it is:

  • 0.90 inch diameter at the base and it tapers like most standard spray bottle caps
  • 1.25 inches tall. Any height greater than 1.1 inches should work fine. My cap is tall enough so that the probe does not come close to it. I can even "activate" the probe with the cap on and it does not touch.

Those dimensions may help you find a spray bottle cap that fits.
